    Golden pebble, clear water, and the beach clubs that made the coast famous. Loud in August, empty and cheap in June.

  3. Himara

    A working fishing town with a Greek-speaking old quarter above it and coves either side that you reach on foot or by boat.

  4. Saranda

    The Riviera's only city: a waterfront promenade, restaurants that stay open late, and the Corfu ferry an hour away by sea.

  5. Ksamil

    Four small islands you can swim to, white sand, and shallow water. Book the earliest boat you can; by noon the beach is sold by the sunbed.

  6. Butrint & the Blue Eye

    A UNESCO archaeological park on a lagoon, and a karst spring rising from more than 50m of unmapped depth. Both are a short drive inland from Saranda.
