Albania packs a lot into weekend range: direct flights from 40+ European cities, prices 50 to 70% below western Europe, and enough variety to make two or three days feel like a proper trip rather than a long layover.
Beaches, mountains and a capital inside one weekend, because nothing is more than a few hours from anything else. Very little of the time goes on transfers.
Accommodation, dinners and guided days here cost roughly what one night costs in Paris, London or Rome. The weekend budget goes about three times as far.
Tirana has direct flights from more than 40 European cities. London 2.5 hours, Rome 1.5, Vienna 1.5, Munich 2 — out after work on Friday, back on Sunday night.
Outside July and August you walk into Butrint or Berat castle without booking a slot, and the drive between two of them is under three hours.
